Asimov’s robots haven’t taken over the world; well at least for now, they haven’t. But one of their distant relatives have already brought a sea change in the digital marketing world.
Yes, I am talking about chatbots; no prizes for guessing what it is though.
Chatbots are considered the new buzz by most marketing professionals. That’s because this is the closest way we can employ an automated robots at affordable prices.
So what makes them unique? What makes them so special that most marketing professionals are absolutely crazy about them? Are they really changing the digital world? Let’s see.
1. Customer service gets an “automated” life
Trust me; I am not saving the best for the last. This is definitely the best benefit of the lot.
Automated customer service is more than capable of sorting out enough headaches and benefit a company tremendously.
When any of your customer contacts your company via an online customer service portal, example an online chat platform, these chatbots can be your first line of assistance. These bots will be able to address all simple queries related to basic services/products.
By implementing chatbots, you will be able to leave your human power for the tougher and more complex problems faced by your customers. That will reduce much of your headache.
Customer service management becomes easier and more effective, exactly what the doctor ordered; isn’t it?
2. Chatbots are more than capable of tracking user data
A one-on-one customer interaction gives you ample opportunity to collect several data about the customer which should benefit your marketing strategies immensely.
But this is too difficult for a human to perform especially when s/he’s trying to give the customer a good customer service to the best of his/her ability.
Chatbots on the other hand can do both of these tasks effectively. Meaning, it is capable of providing effective customer service on one hand and then on the other hand, it collects user data like tracking buying patterns etc. for your marketing purposes.
Such data will help you develop smart marketing strategies for your customers both individually and collectively.
3. They can improve your availability and efficiency
Chatbots can work 24/7 and the best thing is that, they aren’t affected by any heavy customer period.
Every customer connecting to your platform via an online portal is guaranteed of a response. No matter what the number of customers are, the response will surely come to each and every one individually and within the blink of an eye.
4. Chatbots can revolutionize customer interactions on social media messengers
Theoretically, chatbots are deemed very versatile. You can deploy them anywhere on the internet where your customers spend a good chunk of their time and money.
You can deploy chatbots to external outlets requiring text based communication such as the Facebook messenger, Skype, Twitter DM (Direct messaging) etc. All such communication channels can be handled effectively by a chatbot.
By deploying them on social media messengers, you will able to answer all of your customer queries quickly and efficiently.
5. Chatbots are faster and cheaper
Isn’t this obvious? They are bots; not humans. And of course, that’s one of the main reasons due to which they won’t get tired and don’t need sleep at the same time.
Additionally, they are inexpensive; VERY inexpensive if you compare them with that of a live agent. But even that’s not the point. Human beings are always important in any service because nothing can match their intellect.
But for handling simple queries, chatbots can fulfill and tick all your required categories at ease. They are quick and automated. So once you deploy chatbots, you don’t have to worry about them further.
6. With time, they will only get smarter
Powered by advanced artificial intelligence, it can be easily predicted that chatbots will continue to improve in the foreseeable future.
Chatbots basically work through machine learning. It’s a process through which they analyze customer interactions and become more effective and lifelike over time.
Machine learning’s the robot version of the way a human brain interprets information. Machine learning’s still considered to be in its infancy. With rapid developments occurring in this field, you can be sure of one thing that your chatbots are going to be smarter and more efficient with time.
So what do you think? Want to deploy chatbots? Don’t just procrastinate; JUST GO FOR IT!
